'Friendship Day' - The only day that is celebrated without any discretion in age, language, gender, religion, country, or anything for that matter. The tradition was initially started in US in 1935. It was celebrated on first Sunday of August, every year. On this day, friends exchange gifts, flowers, cards and especially wristbands. And the tradition is continued to be followed worldwide.
Friends are the greatest treasure in everyone's lives. A good friend will always help you mould into a better person. I am reminded of our Superstar Rajinikanth's golden words in his movie kuselan, about friendship to school kids: "Your friend sitting next to you, wearing just an uniform, will have no expectations from you. He/she did not happen to be your friend after learning the greater heights that you may reach in life. Such a friend will not be hesitant to point out your mistakes, at any point of time in your life."
My parents always advice me to choose my friends wisely. But I swear, I never had the pursuit of finding the right one, as my life always gifted me with the best ones. You need a friend all time, be it a record submission, assignment completion, bunking, movies, exam, tuition, proposing your love or even getting married. They not only become a part of your family, but a part of you too.
Throughout my life, my friends had been my constant support, either one or the other. I feel happy to share every little moments in my life with them. Leave alone those moments, even a simple 'Good Morning' makes your day. They keep the little child in you alive.
