“OK Raj! To tell you the truth, I am here because of Priya. I do not want to probe her into this. I am doing all these for her peace. Please, cooperate with me and tell me everything that you know”
Raj calmed down, finally. The word 'Priya’ did all the magic to him and his eyes went wet. He started to talk in a soft voice.
“Honestly, I hardly know anything. Few months back, I met with an accident and got hospitalised. At that time, my Manager came up with a new proposal for a joint venture. The papers looked genuine and the chiefs of that company were impressive and trustable. My father took care of the proceedings, while I was in the hospital and most of the actions were covered by my Manager. He was from my native and had been associated with our family for more than fifteen years. So, my dad and I trusted him, blindly.
He showed so much interest in this joint venture and after the business was established, he started working really hard too. Every order we received were satisfied on time and we never received even a single complaint from the customers. Astonishingly, we kept receiving more orders and the work kept us all busy”
“Did you get domestic or international orders?”
“We never received domestic orders through the partners. They have always outsourced international orders, mostly from the European countries”
“oh! I see”
“My Manager used to visit the harbour, every time the consignment was sent. He never used to do so before. But, after the partnership came in place, he took care of all the shipping and I literally stopped worrying about anything. I only thought that he was was being extra sincere and loyal, until I got arrested and taken into custody”
Raj started to cry, even before he could finish saying that. Karthik consoled him and made him feel better. He collected some more information and left the place. He is now all set to dig to the bottom of this controversy. Also, he was determined not to meet either Priya or Raj, unless otherwise needed.
